NAKIVO Backup & Replication v9.4 is GA with Amazon S3 support and Instant P2V

NAKIVO was announced it’s Backup & Replication v9.4 beta version on May 2020 and they are have released GA version with a short time period to support their customer .Nakivo Backup & Replication v9.4 GA is available with many exciting new features, including support for Backup to Amazon S3, Instant Object Recovery to Source and Instant Physical to Virtual Recovery.

What’s New in Backup & Replication 9.4?

Backup to Amazon S3

With seamless protection of your data across platforms, NAKIVO Backup & Replication allows you to back up your workloads to Amazon S3, a highly scalable storage service for terabytes of data. Backup to Amazon S3 ensures that backups and backup copies of VMs and physical servers are stored in Amazon S3 and can be accessed from anywhere and at any time for fast and smooth recovery.

Instant Physical to Virtual Recovery

Recover entire physical machines instantly right from their backups to VMware VMs. You can use those VMs for testing or you can migrate them to a production environment if a physical server goes down.

We can backup all our physical infrastructure and then restore it in our VMware/Hyper-V or Amazon S3 environment.

You will have below options available in this new feature:

  • Physical Windows or Linux server backup
  • Add a Windows or Linux Server to the inventory.
  • Set up and run a Flash Boot job for the newly created physical machine backup to a VMware VM.
  • Verification of the recovered VM is available in the target host and is bootable.
  • Log into the created VM and check the Guest OS for any errors.

Instant Object Recovery to Source

Easily browse, search, and recover individual Exchange and Active Directory objects directly from compressed and deduplicated backups. Restore any item you need back to the original location, without having to perform full VM recovery first.

Role-Based Access Control

With Role-Based Access Control, you can assign the levels of access users have based on their roles in the organization. Take full control of users’ access rights and privileges and limit the actions available to them to eliminate potential risks and threats.

This improves the security of data protection activities. Also, it gives administrators larger control of task delegation

Backup of Fault-Tolerant VMware VMs

VMware Fault Tolerance provides continuous availability for VMs by creating and maintaining an identical copy of the primary VMware VM. Our solution can now protect both the primary fault-tolerant VM and the secondary VM, providing the ultimate protection for your VMware workloads.

Not all backup tools in the market can perform the backup of VMs that are set for Fault-tolerant, with version 9.4 this is available and it is a great additional improvement for NAKIVO Backup & Replication.
