Nakivo Backup & Replication v10.3 is Now Generally Available

NAKIVO Backup & Replication v10.3 announced and is now generally available for. The latest version of NAKIVO Backup & Replication expands the functionality for Exchange Online backup with support for contacts and calendars. Version 10.3 Beta also adds 3 new features for VMware vSphere environments: VMware vCloud Director Backup, Direct Connect and Backup from Storage Snapshots.

Each release adds new features to the already extensive feature list of NAKIVO Backup & Replication with pursuit of reliability and ease of use.

Let’s take a closer look at the features in NAKIVO Backup & Replication v10.3

Backup for Microsoft 365 Contacts and Calendars

NAKIVO Backup & Replication version 10.3 expands Backup for Microsoft 365 capabilities to include backup of contacts and calendars in Exchange Online.

With the new release, contacts and calendars in Exchange Online user accounts are included in mailbox backups. When it comes to recovery, you can recover calendar items and contact items to the original mailbox or a different mailbox in the Microsoft 365 company account.

VMware vCloud Director Backup

The 10.3 version adds VMware vCloud Director Backup to the many capabilities NAKIVO Backup & Replication offers for VMware environments. Especially useful for large enterprises and MSPs, the new feature lets you back up vCloud Director objects, that is, vApps, individual VMs and storage policies, and restore them to the vCloud Director hierarchy.

Recovery is simple and straightforward as NAKIVO Backup & Replication backs up vApp metadata along with the objects. This means that backups include all vApp information, networks, organization, VM options, etc. needed for recovery of files, app objects, VMs and the entire vApp to the original or a different location.

Direct Connect

Direct Connect in v10.3 can come in handy for MSPs providing data protection services to SMBs. The feature allows MSP to simplify establishing a secure connection to the remote resources of their clients.

Service providers can use NAKIVO Backup & Replication to access the remote resources of their client via a single port connection without the need to establish a VPN connection between the two environments, eliminating manual networking connectivity and VPN installation procedures.

Backup from Storage Snapshots

When vSphere VM disks are hosted on an HPE 3PAR storage device, NAKIVO Backup & Replication v10.3 Beta can create backups (and replicas) from storage snapshots instead of regular VM snapshots.

This approach to backups drastically reduces the impact of data protection activities on your production environment and allows you to speed up backup and replication to create recovery points as frequently as you need.
