How to Perform Update Of NAKIVO BR Appliance

A few Weeks back NAKIVO released their latest version 8.1 with new features and enhancements. Once you login to the console you will get a notification “Update available” notification appears in the top bar, near the main menu buttons. And you have to do an update if you want to use all new features in your NAKIVO BR. In this post, I will share how can you upgrade your NAKIVO BR appliance in an easy and quick way.

• Log on to NAKIVO Appliance with an SSH client where the VA is to be updated and change the directory to /opt/nakivo/updates .

cd  /opt/nakivo/updates

• Download the latest VA and Linux updater using wget command  –  “wget  URL_to_the_updater.sh”

wget https://d96i82q710b04.cloudfront.net/res/product/NAKIVO_Backup_Replication_v8.1.0_Updater.sh

• Once the downloading completed, you have to run the updater file using below command

# sh NAKIVO_Backup_Replication_v8.1.0_Updater.sh

• Review the End User License Agreement by pressing Space to go to the bottom of it and entering Y for agreeing to the terms type “Y” and then press Enter to begin the update process.
• And it will show you the existing installed version details and you have to confirm by typing Y and hit enter. Be patient in few minutes the update will be completed and you can the success message NAKIVO Backup & Replication Updated Successfully.

Note:- Before proceeding the update make sure you have take snapshot of this Appliance which will help you to revert to the previous version in case any failure occurred. And if you have any additional Transporter deployed you have to update them after the appliance upgrade.
